Almost completed outdoor teaching area off to east side of the building with building behind. We are really pleased with how the machine operator from AJ Project Management was able to build this into the hill using boulders from the local Horne Lake quarry. This will be a spectacular area for teaching and dialogues with an impressive view of Baynes Sound and the Beaufort Mountain range. Locally cut sandstone slabs will complete the bench seating.

Regular construction management meetings today. All about the details, design, cost management, anticipation of commissioning and lots of small final decisions. Work now going on inside building with sprinkler systems and electrical being installed and framing in advance of glazing. Note in photo above that west end wall appearing, temporary entrance moved back to future main entrance and grading of lowest parking area in place – this will be used for staging of roofing install shortly. Construction update 10.06.01

Another big milestone as after much preparation, the lower concrete slab was poured today. Lots else going on elsewhere with 40 crew on site today. A reflection of our infrastructure funding creating construction jobs on Vancouver Island.
