Riparian Restoration

Salmonid habitat

VIU Fisheries and Aquaculture student Mason Reiger stands at one end of the largest of a series of ponds built as part of a riparian restoration project on the Field Station site.    Next year with help from the Fanny Bay Enhancement Society we are going to open this up so that salmon can access this new system. Here is a picture during construction of the same pond:
