Are you concerned about food security issues on Vancouver Island?
The VIU Institute for Coastal Research, VIU’s Community Based Research Institute and the student-led Campus Food Strategy group invite you to a FREE evening with speakers, discussion and local food on Monday April 16, from 5-8 pm on VIU’s Nanaimo Campus (Royal Arbutus Room, Bldg 300).
The evening will include presentations about:
-Recent collaborative food security research from the Vancouver Island Community Research Alliance (an island focused community-campus research alliance between the five VI post-secondary institutions and other partners)
-Community Supported Agriculture and Community Supported Fisheries operators as local business innovations where you share both the risks and the rewards with the producer of your food.
-A presentation about new research VIU is doing into Vancouver Island ‘Seafood Security’
Interactive discussion will take place over local food and beverages. We look forward to seeing you there.
