Our first foraging for shellfish class was a great success! We had a wonderful time digging for clams, shucking oysters, gathering sea asparagus and discovering many amazing animals on the shore. Highlights of our afternoon at the beach included a gathering huge bounty of shellfish to take home, holding slimy moonsnails and eating the freshest oysters you can find. We were hardly ready to leave the beach when it came time to head inside but Chefs Lila Ruzicka and Debbie Shore delighted us with an interactive cooking demonstration and an amazing shellfish feast paired with local wines. Guests enjoyed clam chowder, baked oysters with creamed leaks and bacon, and many more delicious dishes. Thanks to all those who came out, foraged on the beach, got dirty and helped make the day a great one.
